ITunes Freebies!!!

Let me start off by saying that I love my IPod. I blast my music in the car, the shower, and listen to it while cleaning the house. I also sing and dance but that is another story for another day. My dog has witnessed my awesome dance moves on a weekly basis. I am a huge fan of music! I am also a huge fan of the free stuff that they offer every week. Free stuff you say? That's right...free stuff. Every week ITunes offers free music, videos, and free TV episodes. Some of the music is.... well, "okay" would be the word I would use. However, on some occasions you get a good one. One of my favorites so far has been one called "Cool my Heels" from artist Nikki Yanofsky.
It is a great tune, and worth checking into. I also downloaded "Beautiful is gone" by The Ruse, and "Keep on Loving You" by Steel Magnolias. All free! What's also great is that they offer free TV episodes of some of my favorite shows. I downloaded one from Family Guy, The Office, and Fringe. Obviously some of the episodes are older ones, but when you are waiting at an appointment, or on a plane, they are well worth it. My last freebie was a video/song of "Gives you Hell" from Glee. I love Glee...therefore I love Glee freebies. So next time you are downloading new stuff, check out their Free Stuff section. Also, if your a movie lover, check out there movie deals. Every week they have cheap movies in every genre, and there is always a goodie!
Enjoy

Halloween Fun!!

Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year!  I love Christmas too, but Halloween is different. The costumes, the decorations, the candy, and all the spooky goodies.....I get excited just thinking about it!  It doesn't hurt that my b-day is in October too.  I was so excited when we moved into our own place because we could decorate, and trust me, decorate we did. So here are some pics from Halloween past and present.  I am still looking for the pics of when we decorated the inside of the house. I posted some pics of our front yard graveyard, our pumpkins, and a Michael Meyers body that we made to scare everyone. It ended up just scaring me all the time, because it was life size. The nights that I was home by myself were not easy, especially because for a month it was a fixture in the living room, and it watched tv with me. No good my friends...no good. I also have some pics of some 3-D cookies we made. We had received some Williams & Sonoma cookie cutters for a gift one year. It came with Pumpkins, witches, cats and a haunted house. They were hard to make, but worth it!  There are also some pics of me and the family at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. We love going because we love being scared.  The haunted houses and scare zones are great! There will be more Halloween pics to come so stay tuned. I also will be putting some pet costume pics up too in my doggies section!  Have a look!

Here are the Willams & Sonoma Halloween cookie cutters. You bake the different shapes and then place them together. It was a bit hard, but they came out great!!!

Here is our Michael Meyers. He was really scary. We had him behind a curtain in one of the bedrooms. We put a strobe light in the window under the curtain so at night you would just see flashes of his face. We scared the little boy next door. He would only come halfway into the yard, even after we turned on the lights and showed him that he looked like the below pic, and he was not real.

Above is the video of Michael. It is kind of fuzzy because it was dark, but at about 1:20, you can see why our neighbor was scared. The pic below is from one of the Halloween Horror Nights. It was the first year that my family went with us. It was great for me and Craig because we knew what to expect, they didn't, hahaha.
This is me and my sister, I almost died...
My husband hates the witch from Wizard of Oz. This isn't her, but she was there too. This was as close as he was getting to one.
 My sister and I.
I love this pic because they had no idea what was coming, and why I was laughing.
This year was the first year we took pics with characters, because we were scared. This is why. They always wait until you are about to take a pic, then they turn on you, or scream and chase you. I love this pic though!

I love me some ITunes!

Some new Favorites...
Do you ever find yourself getting excited when you hear certain commercials on tv? Your not excited about what they are selling, but excited because it has a really good song on in the background. That's me, I'm kind of a dork that way. I keep seeing a new commercial for "Camp Vegas." I love Vegas, and if you've been there, you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, they have been rocking a song called "Animal" by Neon Trees. I downloaded it right away, and I am addicted. Check it out if you get a chance. The video is below for your entertainment!
Neon Trees "Animal"
Itunes is putting up new 69 cent songs every week. I found a bunch of songs that I loved for cheap. One of the ones on the list was from The Ceasers called "Jerk It Out."
Ceasers "Jerk it out"
Go check it out!
.69 cents songs on ITunes!

I was updating my Ipod the other day and I came across an awesome deal. You know I love a good deal! They have a section right now called .69 Cent songs. I figured when I first checked it out it would be all older stuff, but I was wrong. They have it broken down into a sections. They have classics, rock, country, pop, and some one hit wonders. Some of the artists featured are Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Chris Cagle, Dierks Bentley, and Aerosmith. I even got one from Frank Sinatra. They have some songs from the 80's and 90's too. Go check them out before they are gone. I would suggest grabbing an Itunes card too, because I shot through my card pretty quick with all the stuff I downloaded. Have fun!

Portugese Bread

I am a very picky eater. I'm not one of those people that loves all kinds of crazy flavors, and spicy foods. I wish that I did, but it is just not me. I am a plain jane eater, and I'm not ashamed. That being said, you should know that I love bread. Not all breads, just plain old good fashioned white bread. Throw some butter or cinnamon on it and I am in heaven. If I wake up in the middle of the night and I'm hungry, I'll just eat a plain slice of bread, and I'm good to go.  My husband thinks its weird, but he is used to my weirdness by now. So I thought that I should share a bread recipe with you all. My mom has made this recipe for years, and it is so good. The great thing is that you can make this plain like I like it, or add your own spicy flair if you choose. Either way it is delish!

Portugese Bread
-Italian sausage (sweet or hot) or Linguica ( I used about 1-2 links of mild sausage. Change your amounts to how much you want in your bread.)
-Frozen bread dough (let rise as directed in greased bread pan).
-Bacon -  DO NOT use turkey bacon or ready to eat bacon.
-Shredded mozzarella cheese
-Optional (bell peppers, onion)
-Flour (to roll out dough).
-Greased cookie sheet.

Boil sausage for 20 minutes - let cool. Cut into 1/2 slices
For the bacon, I used about 5 slices. (you can use as much as you like.)  I cook it until it just starts to brown. Don't cook it all the way through, you need the juices from it to finish cooking while it's in the oven.
You can flour your countertop at this point, that way you can start to roll out your dough. Roll out bread 6 " wide, 12 - 14" " L.
Take your bacon, and place it across the bread, overlapping in the middle.
Take your sausage pieces and lay them over the bacon, again put as many as you would like on top.
Next, place Mozzarella cheese over sausage and bacon. I use enough for it to cover everything, you can use more to make it extra gooey if you like. At this point, you can lay any additional ingredients that you like over the sausage.
Bring longer sides of bread to center, crossing over slightly and pinching together. Roll ends closed and pinch as well.
Grease cookie sheet, then lay bread on sheet.  Bake at 350 for 20 minutes (tops should be slightly browned).
Keep in fridge, microwave to your liking.  Enjoy!

Bad blogger!

I have been a bad little blogger. I have not given you guys anything good for the last month, and I am so sorry. I was sidelined for a little bit, but now I'm back in the game. Thanks to everyone who sent well wishes! I appreciate it! I have some new recipes to come. My first one is Portugese Bread. Enjoy!

Broken IPod Buttons

Do you ever wonder if you can break the buttons on your IPod? I fear that this day is coming soon for me. I am always rewinding, and going back and forth to the same songs. I have a lot of favorites, but these two have been on the repeat for a few weeks now. Here are two songs that you might like.
I love music. All music, from different genres to different decades. Everything form country to rap, pop to rock, oldies and so on. This is one of my faves this week. It is from Travie McCoy. It's a little bit of rap, with a great chorus. I like rap, but some of it is a little to hard core for me. This one is right up my alley though. This is the explicit version, so if you have children be warned!!
Travie McCoy "Billionaire"
The other one I like is actually a remake of an oldie. It is from Jerrod Niemann. It's called Lover Lover, and it's a little bit country.
